Should I Go Back To Doc For Another Try For Diagnosis?
A MyHyperhidrosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Mine starts on my head and can actually feel it spreading out within my hair (like a puddle eh water getting bigger) then it's as though the moment it starts between fringe n brow line a sudden showers switch on using maximum pressure, within a minute (2 at most) I drenched(no joke when a say head 2 toe) what's worse this can last for as long as it decides it wants to stop, the longest it's lasted was at least 30 odd hrs continuos. What drives me crazy most, sum1 I know pickin me up (knowing… read more

ChaCha A couple of things that worked for me… My daughter videoed myself doing minor chores. Three little snippets of video, folding laundry, light dusting for just a couple minutes and I can’t remember the third thing. But I got three short clips to show the doctor how quickly and how bad I sweat just doing something low activity. It really sold him on what was going on with me. A picture was worth 1000 words… Or rather a correct diagnosis!

Also as he was watching the video I said to him do you think this might be hyperhidrosis? You know just a gentle suggestion. I have found the doctors have huge egos and none of them want you telling them what is wrong! 😬.

We had to rule out other possibilities, too, like my medications of which I take several, and a mass growing on my adrenal gland. Also menopause, but I knew none of these were it because this is been going on since I was a young girl. It has gotten a bit worse and definitely more frequent as I have gotten older. I sweat from my head and my face. A little under arm but no big rings, and no torrents down my back or chest. I do, however, have a monsoon from my head.

I begin sweating the minute I get out of the bathtub and it does not stop until I’m sitting still under a fan, eating ice chips praying for snow!

Hang in there, and just know there’s a bazillion of us out here in hyperhidrosis land that feel your pain and are rooting to find solutions!

TraceyAssassa I’ve mentioned this before but it worked so here goes... take brief video of you doing light/short chores from start to sweating! Within 1 minute I go from dry to drenched! Then show to doctor on next visit. I have done this with folding clothes, washing dishes and light dusting. My video was worth a million “begs” to please believe and treat me!

I now have Drysol and Oxybut 5 mg! I’m a drier and happier camper, somewhat! Not perfect but it’s a great help ... and I’ll take any I can get when it comes to this watery nightmare!!!

Hope it helps and have a great weekend!

LucyBaldry Thank you! It worked for me. I’m glad I decided to try it after having My previous doctor tell me “no medicine, my body sweats for a reason.” It sounded right to me... but was horribly disappointing to think I was going to have to just deal with it for the rest of my life!

So nice and seemingly rare to find a a new doctor that actually LISTENS to their patients!

So, thanks again for the kudos, it makes me feel good I can contribute to something.,, hopefully 😬
