That's a really important question. When excessive sweating is triggered by a medication, it's considered secondary hyperhidrosis. Unfortunately, there isn't a one-size-fits-all timeline for how long it takes to resolve after stopping the medication that caused it.

The resolution time can depend on several factors:

- How long the medication was taken
- Individual body chemistry and metabolism
- Whether there are other contributing factors to the sweating

The general expectation is that once the triggering medication is out of your system, sweating should gradually improve. However, this can take days to weeks for some people.

It's really important not to stop taking any medication without first speaking to your doctor. They can help create a safe plan for tapering off and monitor whether your sweating improves afterward. If sweating continues well after stopping the medication, a doctor can help explore other possible causes or treatments.
