Members shared practical solutions for managing head and face sweating, with nearly everyone carrying a face cloth or small towel at all times, while others found relief through cotton visors, headbands, hand fans, short haircuts, and wearing hats to catch sweat before it reaches the face. Several members described creative strategies such as using cooling spray under a wig for special occasions, sitting in front of fans or air conditioning, and one member noting that symptoms improved with age and anxiety treatment. A recurring theme was the profound emotional toll of sweating, with many members expressing deep embarrassment, social isolation, reluctance to hug loved ones, and avoiding public outings altogether, yet finding comfort and validation in knowing others share the same struggle.

In addition to taking a face cloth, I always wear a hat. This catches most of the sweat from my head and then I just have to deal with the face. Just the addition of the hat has made a world of difference.

For me I found a solution before my daughters wedding, for social occasions... I bought a wig from a reputable company... I took my daughter and sister (who is a hairdresser) with me and chose one as near to my usual hair colour and style but that just looks like I have had my hair done! I got a spray that they sell for motorcyclists to cool their heads and spray on liberally, let it dry a bit then pop on wig. I am not precious and when close family or friends were amazed at me not sweating and dripping everywhere I told them and all very supportive. I admit it does not stop you feeling hot but I would use a fan to do that, but the confidence it has given me when I go out is so worth it... I do have to wash it probably more often than someone without cranial hyperhydrosis but a mall price to pay. Sadly as I have had gynae cancer the oxybutinim worked for me but caused huge gynae dryness and subsequent issues with scar tissue so I had to make a decision and stopped taking it. I also wear towelling headbands indoors as I go about my day. My picture is from an occasion of me in wig!
