Overview
Qbrexza is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the topical treatment of primary axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating) in adults and children 9 years of age and older. It is prescribed when excessive sweating cannot be managed with over-the-counter treatments. Qbrexza is also known by its drug name, glycopyrronium.

Qbrexza is an anticholinergic medication, meaning it works by blocking certain nerve signals that activate sweat glands. By interfering with these signals, it helps reduce sweat production in the treated area.

How do I take it?
Prescribing information states that Qbrexza is applied once daily using a single-use cloth pre-moistened with 2.4 percent glycopyrronium solution. The cloth is used to wipe both underarms. It should be used exactly as prescribed by a healthcare provider.

Side effects
Common side effects of Qbrexza include dry mouth, mydriasis (enlarged pupils), throat pain, headache, urinary hesitation (difficulty urinating), blurred vision, nasal dryness, dry throat, dry eyes, dry skin, constipation, and local skin reactions such as erythema (redness), burning or stinging, and pruritus (itching).

Rare but serious side effects may include new or worsening urinary retention (inability to fully empty the bladder), overheating due to reduced sweating in hot environments, and vision problems that may impair the ability to operate machinery or drive safely.
